Position A

Data Systems & Research VISTA

Help build a new way to explore Richland’s history.

The Data Systems & Research VISTA will help reconstruct burial records and transform historical research into an accessible, location-based digital system connecting people, graves, records, photographs, and stories.

You’ll help develop systems for grave mapping, field data collection, aerial drone documentation, research, and record verification, while building standards and workflows that keep the information accurate and useful over time.

The work will help power interactive maps, aerial imagery, QR-linked grave experiences, searchable histories, and on-demand tours—creating a digital foundation that can continue growing long after the VISTA service year ends.

Position B

Partnerships & Volunteer Systems VISTA

Help build the community that will carry Richland’s history forward.

The Partnerships & Volunteer Systems VISTA will help build a lasting network of volunteers, community partners, and descendants who can participate in preserving, researching, and sharing Richland’s history.

You’ll develop systems for recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers while building partnerships with churches, community organizations, veteran-serving groups, schools, and other organizations that can contribute people, knowledge, and resources.

The work will create pathways for descendant engagement, community research, volunteer service, tours, special events, and ongoing collaboration—building a community network that can continue supporting Richland long after the VISTA service year ends.
